Great...more martial arts crap.
There are plenty borrowed from The Matrix for Romeo Must Die,
and none of it is humanly possible. It's also way too long: 115 minutes. Why do I have to be tortured by
seeing the same stuff over and over? And this is a remake of Romeo and Juliet? Hardly that.
I don't remember Jet Li from Lethal Weapon 4 and have never seen him
in anything else. He makes no impression here. Why another when Jackie Chan is enough? Jet Li's
personality is nil. He should be embarrassed of himself by opting for wirework.
Aaliyah sucks in acting and is in almost every scene constantly. At one point, somebody asked her, "You
saving yourself for Kobe Bryant?" Ironically, she would die in a plane crash the following year while he died
in a helicopter crash in 2020. Please, please, please...stop giving Anthony Anderson any more work. He's the
worst!
How about the plot? It concerns people being killed for their deed, so somebody can open an NFL stadium on a
premium property, If I have to guess, it was stolen from Booker
as a five-episode package that's shared with 21 Jump Street,
most specifically parts 1 and 2 of "Wheels and Deals."
All in all, Romeo Must Die is a stupid waste of time.
