Maybe Netflix should cease using that word since just about everything in
Untold: The Murder of Air McNair isn't new. At least, Jeff Fisher has done a good job of talking about
his relationship with Steve McNair. Yeah, I remember being shocked when his death was announced
on the news and that it was murder-suicide.
Having watched Steve McNair play for Alcorn State University, I thought he would be a good quarterback in the
NFL. There were a couple more from unheard-of schools who were on similar trajectory during the 90's:
Marshall Faulk (San Diego State) and Randy Moss (Marshall). These three stood out so much that they became
stars.
What made Steve McNair a likeable person is he was quiet and unassuming, letting his play on the field speak
volumes. He often delivered, reminding me of Brett Favre and Randall Cunningham, despite being injured which
was quite often. When the Titans went to the Super Bowl in 2000, that wasn't a fluke, but everybody needs to
stop saying that they were one yard away from winning it. Kevin Dyson's butt was down already by two yards,
effectively running out the clock.
All in all, Untold: The Murder of Air McNair doesn't provide conclusive answers but presents a summary
of Steve McNair's life and how it came to a tragic end.
