Shot on location in East Jersey State Prison (formerly Rahway State Prison), the extras are real prisoners and
guards, providing the look. Sylvester Stallone is the man while Predator's Sonny Landham matches him
intensity for insensity. The story is great and entirely believable with terrific editing and many Stallone
moments. In prison, you have decent guys versus stone-cold killers. At the same time, it's hard to overlook
Tom Sizemore's terrific performance as Dallas.
There's no finer example of being in a war than the opening scene when the men are ready to come out of the
Higgins boats during D-Day on the beaches of Normandy, France. It goes without saying Saving Private Ryan
is the most realistic-looking war picture, putting Battle of the Bulge and The Longest Day to shame.
Tom Sizemore is excellent as Tom Hanks' protector, and it's easy to feel bad when his character died.
Talk about notorious. Fast-paced, frenzied, and brutal, Natural Born Killers is one of the most
controversial, talked-about films that's very much in-your-face. Hence, it's the epitome of America and the mass
media's insatiable fascination and lust for violence and pornography. There are so many sleazy secondary
characters, and Tom Sizemore's ranks the number one.
Shot on location all over Los Angeles, Heat is an engrossing crime thriller that spans three hours.
My favorite part, besides the epic shootout scene and you won't see anything like it in other films, is when
Tom Sizemore put his head sideways to look at the male patron after he overheard the commotion and then decided
to ignore it. He also has a great line when it comes to why his character wanted in: "For me, the action is
the juice."
Remember in Goodfellas when Henry and Karen Hill decided to give up their Mafia life by
entering the witness protection program? The question is: what happens in between? That's what
Witness Protection is all about which is based on Robert Sabbag's article entitled "The Invisible
Family." Strong performances come from Tom Sizemore (in a rare leading role), Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio,
and Forest Whitaker.
It's a terrific picture with Denzel Washington at his best. All of the hallmarks have been hit: the voice-over
narration, the wrong man at the wrong place accused of murder, the case of a missing woman, the sultry
cinematography of Los Angeles, and the lineup of tough guys and corrupt politicians and cops. An added bonus
is racism that's not a common feature in most films of the genre. Tom Sizemore plays a big part in all of this.
What should somebody do when an airplane has been hijacked? Always bet on black. That's John Cutter's motto
in Passenger 57 which is an all-thrill actioner, thanks to the high-octane performances by
Wesley Snipes and Bruce Payne. It's a very short film, clocking at eighty-four minutes, that will go very
quickly. Tom Sizemore plays Sly Delvecchio and is very much involved for Wesley Snipes.
