Opinion: Because of his intense, piercing eyes, Ray Liotta was often typecast as a psychotic character which isn't always a bad thing, but he was actually a very good actor, especially in dramas like Dominick and Eugene and Article 99. He could easily dominate a movie such as Something Wild in spite of the strong cast and got unfairly shut out of Oscar nominations for Something Wild, Goodfellas, and Narc. If not for Ray Liotta, Goodfellas wouldn't be the film as it is; he's legendary for two scenes: the back way at the restaurant and May 11, 1980.

Confirmed: Was first abandoned at an orphanage and then adopted at 6 months. Grew up in Union, NJ. Often mistaken for an Italian but actually was Scottish for the most part (found out about it after hiring a private detective to locate his real mother). Attended the University of Miami, earning a Bachelor's degree in 1978 for acting although he initially thought of it as a hobby. Did some musicals while holding a cemetery job and befriended Steven Bauer in college. Got serious about acting after graduation and moved to New York City. Appeared in a daytime soap opera sitcom Another World for a few years. Had a breakout role in Something Wild after asking Melanie Griffith for a favor. Made famous by Goodfellas.

Was detained at Tampa International Airport in 1999 for being verbally abusive to flight attendants who refused to serve him any more wine, but no charges were filed. Was arrested for driving under the influence of either drugs or alcohol in 2007. A longtime smoker who became a spokesperson for Chantix which is a prescription medicine to help people stop smoking. Named Sigourney Weaver as his worst kisser on screen. Said that Clint Eastwood was the most overrated actor of the 80's and 90's. Didn't know any of Jennifer Lopez's songs despite starring together in a TV show.

Rumors: Alcoholic. Heavy cocaine user. Bisexual. Regular user of escort services. Physically abusive to hookers. Ruined his face with botox. Sported an eyeliner at the bottom of his eye lashes.
