Five minutes into One Fine Day, I was completely doomed.
What a horrible movie. It begins with the annoying spoiled brats, and their parents are as bad
as them, hence the expression: "The apple doesn't fall from the tree." Luckily, my DVD copy broke not long
after, so I had to wait for a week before resuming the film. Then, I had to digest the whole in parts over a
matter of days.
As Sammy, Alex D. Linz should be tortured to death. The girl played by Mae Whitman is witless. George Clooney
needs to stop tilting his head sideways so much while speaking. Who does that in real life?
Michelle Pfeiffer gets the Worst Performer of the Year award by playing an insufferable, high maintenance
bitch. There's no chemistry between these two.
The movie makes for a one long endless chore of sitting through "oops, I forgot the kids...will you watch
them for me while I do something at work?" incidents. Had they been removed, it's probably tolerable. I think
the makers were trying for the 40's screwball effect with the idea of George Clooney for Cary Grant, but I
wasn't fooled by any means.
All in all, One Fine Day it ain't.
