Nickelodeon
8/25: What the fuck, Peter Bogdanovich?

After he directed The Last Picture Show and Paper Moon, I thought his brilliance would continue through Nickelodeon. But nope...it turns out to be one of the worst pictures I've seen. Thirty minutes at most is all I could take per day.

The story makes no sense, and nothing is ever funny. It's annoying to see Tatum O'Neal continuing her character from Paper Moon. What was Burt Reynolds thinking? Luckily, his career began to take off the following year when he did Smokey and the Bandit. He eventually punched the pseudo-director in the face in Hooper as an homage to Peter Bogdanovich.

Nobody cares about what happened during the days of silent cinema. Every film made about that during the 70's has failed at the box office. If Peter Bogdanovich wanted to preserve some history, he could've focused on what went behind the scenes of The Birth of a Nation. Instead, some meaningless footage of it is shown at the end of Nickelodeon for poor reasons.

All in all, Nickelodeon is awful, awful, awful.
