5/26: There are many films with the same title Heat, and this is about the one with Burt Reynolds.

At the beginning, I felt puzzled and disappointed that I was going to be stuck with a crappy product given that the writer was William Goldman, famed for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Princess Bride, among others. However, the longer the show went on, the better it got.

Therefore, Heat is a cult film that takes place in Las Vegas, and there is a series of interesting incidents. Burt Reynolds plays a jerk at the outset (when he took the toupee off the guy's head, I thought the other should've done the same thing, too, considering Burt always wears a toupee), but there's a very good reason why. Once it's revealed, he's back to his "good ole boy" persona and handles the remaining material with ease.

I have to give credit to Peter MacNicol for righting the ship. After his character was shot, I assumed he was stupidly killed for nothing, but it became surprise at the end. Throughout, Burt Reynolds is in top form; people don't give him enough credit for being a pretty good actor although he tends to play himself a lot. He actually looks good considering what happened on the set during the making of City Heat, causing him to lose over thirty pounds which made people think he contracted AIDS.

All in all, fans of Burt Reynolds will appreciate Heat.
