Billy Liar is a good portrayal of a pathological liar, and the world is full of them.
Everything seems to work out all right, but Julie Christie's presence is unnecessary. It's not a fun film to sit through as
the topic will get old fast because I once knew somebody who lied all the time. Of course, like a Ponzi scheme, the person
will hang on from one lie to another until he's exposed for what he is. When that happens, it's not a pretty picture.
All in all, Billy Liar is the cinematic paragon of a pathological liar.
